[Tfug] No Sound on SuSE Linux for SB Live

I just installed SuSE Linux on my Pentium 4 system.  I
have a dual boot with Win ME.  Everything went pretty
smoothly expcept sound.  


I have the SoundBlaster Live Value card.

I run YasT2 to check and change configuration and the
sound card seems to be configured but I get no sound
from any application.  I am a Software Engineer  and
new to Linux although fairly expert in Windows.  I
have used Unix in the past but not as an
administrator.  I can't help but think there is some
subtlety I am missing in the setup.

I have tried going through some manual method
suggested by the SuSE help but that did not work.

Does anyone have a hint?
