Hello,

I've configured K12LTSP on a server and a client.  Very easy, actually if one selects the defaults it is very easy.  Even have two NICs in the server, one connected to the local network and one to serve the terminal computers.

My request for help is in the configuration of applications to run on the client instead of on the server.  If I am reading the documentation right I need to install and configure NIS.  Why would I need NIS if the terminal is booting directly from the server and loading everything from the server and then running the app on the local machine?
