[Tfug] why not wicd

Hi, does anyone know why wicd isn't more popular among the linux
distros? I've been using it almost as long as I've been using linux
(which not that long actually because until last winter, I was always
on FreeBSD), and I think it's just much better. I haven't used network
manager in a while, so I can't remember exactly what turned me off of
it, but wicd has been wonderful and as far I know, it's not the
default for any of the major linuxes.
