Yes. For the most part, I just set whatever I happen to be
repairing aside (the dining room floor makes an excellent
wall-to-wall workbench! :> ) and add the components to the
"Next Order". If I need to have "whatever" running *now*, then
I bite the bullet and pay Elliot's excessive prices. :<

In my case, I'm just instrumenting a residence. Quality cables
work well enough over those distances. Bigger concern is
keeping them from becoming antennae...

Unfortunately, dropping several hundred dollars on cameras isn't
the sort of thing I want to do "casually"... :(
