Yes.  Thankfully (?), there aren't many "highly technical"
exchanges here where subtel refinements in commentary play
a significant role in the results.  E.g., compare this to
applying diff(1)'s out of order, etc.

Exactly!  This is why maintaining proper attributions is
an oft neglected part of netiquette.  This is especially
true if you are challenging a previous statement -- make
sure you (and others) know who is responsible for the
statement being challenged.
