I have 2 machines with 9.10 fresh install and latest kernel.  Both read
CDs and DVDs fine.  The one is a DVD writer and writes OK.  There are some
problems with brands of CD/DVD but they are very old units.  I'll check
the one at work with the upgrade to 9.10 when World Care opens in January.
