You'll need to update your configuration. If running XOrg, it 
will probably be in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Depending on the distribution you use, there are tools to help 
you reconfigure. For example, on Debian and its derivatives, as 
root you can use:

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
