Speaking of Ubuntu, I upgraded to Hardy recently, even though it is
still in beta.  As I had hoped, hardware video acceleration now works
on my T61.  Finally have Compiz working, and video performance is much
smoother.

Other things that I've successfully tested on the T61 are the
the ExpressCard (with an external SATA drive), and the microphone
(with Skype).  I have yet to to try Xen, and also had some
difficulties with the Firewire, but I'll report back when I
sort these things out.
