When saying "true patriot", I would call that a
libertarian-style definition of patriot.

>From the speech:
The true patriot is motivated by a sense of responsibility
and out of self-interest for himself, his family, and the
future of his country to resist government abuse of power.
He rejects the notion that patriotism means obedience to the
state.

Consider that as opposed to a dictionary definition of
patriotism:
one who loves his or her country and supports its authority
and interests

As I read it, Paul's patriotic motivation stems from self
interest and the antithesis of a dictionary definition of
patriotism.

Don't mistake my making distinctions as criticism. At least
Llewellyn, Ron Paul and other libertarians are honest about
their self motivation.

IMO, the biggest phonies are leftists who proclaim
allegiance to "the workers", "the people", or for "the
greater good"
