Don,
Do you run NetBSD? I installed out of joke last weekend. Absolutely
fantastic OS. True old-fashion Unix.
I am still FreeBSD guy and OpenBSD for PF, NAT but if I had old Amiga or
more exotic hardware
I would use NetBSD in a blink of an eye.
As of my 2c about the topic I have to agree with Don. Cloning systems is
something which is well documented (FreeBSD Handbook for instance) and
done countless times by sys-admin all over the world.
