[Tfug] XO availability

At Claude's BBQ there was discussion of the XO computer from the One
Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project.  The website makes it clear that the
laptop will be available through the Give 1 Get 1 program beginning
November 12, 2007 and for a short time thereafter.  The language "a
short time" is used in many places on the website.  Only on the FAQ
page the dates are clearly defined.  The relevant text from
http://www.xogiving.org/faq.html follows:

Our schedule is to have units ready for shipment by late 2007. A
limited number of laptop computers will be available for purchase in
North America for a limited time from November 12th to November 26th.
They will initially only be available as part of a Give 1 Get 1
initiative. Essentially, consumers will be able to buy two laptop
computers for $399. One will be distributed to a child in need and you
will receive the other one.
</quote>

They have a limited supply of XOs available for sale through this
program so they might run out of them before November 26, 2007.
Therefore if you want one I think it's important to place an order for
one early.
