[Tfug] no sound on new Ubuntu system

My system recognizes what card it actually is: ATI IXP SB400. What do you
mean by an Intel 'chipset'? On the sound card itself? or motherboard
controller?
I'll take your advice and go the alsa users list. Thanks.
