Probably.  Or, something else arcing that shouldn;t
be.

<grin>  Yes, unless you know what you are doing,
pulling the back off a monitor is an invitation
to trouble.  (Depending on the design of the
monitor, it can take 24 hours for the high voltage
capacitors to discharge to "safe" levels)

You may be in luck!  :>  WorldCare recently received
some Sun widescreen (CRT) monitors.  I pulled a couple
that *seemed* to work and set them aside.  But, I
haven't had time to test them thoroughly.  If you
are interested, I can get the model numbers for you
and test them more thoroughly.

WorldCare (actually, "World Care" but "WorldCare"
seems so much more "en vogue") is closed for
inventory until after New Year's (or thereabouts).

No idea what pricing would be.

I *think* these are Sony tubes.  Many of the large
"GDM" series Sun's are.
