[Tfug] my /usr and /var are huge

    Using symbolic links for this purpose is dangerous. The userland
is what expands the most for a typical machine, (that is /usr)

    /var can expand and shrink. Check your /var/log files. Unless they
are properly maintained, they can expand to arbitrary size.
