[Tfug] simh on Linux -- where's bpf?

Gang,
 I'm trying to get simh to run on Linux (FC4).  I got
the source and compiled it (had to
download/compile/instal updated libpcap), but can't
bring up networking because I have no /dev/bpf0 or
/dev/bpf1.  What's the deal?  I can run just fine on
NetBSD and OpenBSD!
