Hi Peoples.

I am about to switch my home broadband provider from Cox 4.0 mbps
cable to Qwest 1.5 mbps dsl. The order is in, it's basically a done
deal.

In my previous life, I had Verizon DSL in Washington DC, and it was
essentially problem free, with a downtime of maybe 2 hours over 2
years. They even replaced the modem for free when it started putting
noise onto the voice freqs.

DSL was not available to me here when I moved (and has just become
available within the past 2 months or so), so I originally went with
Cox. Looking back, I think the Cox service was acceptable as far as
speed and reliability, certainly the fastest broadband I had ever
experienced, yet I have come to hate them like no other company. IMHO
they have the worst corporate procedures and policies i have ever
seen.

I'm hoping that Qwest will be at least as reliable and easier to deal
with. the smaller bandwidth i will deal with. One nice thing: Qwest
claims that within a few months I'll be able to upgrade to a whopping
SEVEN mbps dsl.

what does the list think of Cox v. Qwest?
