I haven't looked at sarge, but... if it's like woody, only the first
disk is absolutely essential.
In fact, if you're looking for a very minimal install, a net install is
really quite painless, provided the installer is happy with your network
card (most cards are fine). This will let you grab what you want and
only what you want for a very minimal system.
Generally, when I install Debian, I have a minimal install disk, and do
a net install. If the images are already out of date for an official
release, they will be shortly, and after you install, you always end up
having to update anyway... why not just grab the updated packages from
the get-go? :)
