[Tfug] 64 bit file server?

I don't know, or even thing 64bit ness is worth it, but the system
design can be.

I would take a single/dual opteron, with a 64 bit PCI-X bus over just
about any other PC class system available.

Intel can't compete bandwidth wise with the Xeon, even their EMT64
extensions.

Would you need to install 64Bit on the opteron... No.  Does the whole
system make the cost worth it.  Yes.
