I made the same mistake.

Knowing what we know now, I think you played it right. I had to go 
the same route during the aforementioned exchange with Dave.

. My first mistake was not to do a 'whois'.  I presumed that the 66.... 
. was at UltraSW.  It is actually at Yahoo.  UltraSW is paying attention 
. to a blacklist and bouncing messages from Yahoogroups thereby nullifying 
. some or all Yahoogroups lists for users of UltraSW.

. I bypassed Dave this time and wrote the owner since Dave told me on the 
. phone that he doesn't repsond to emails!
