[Tfug] ISP for Qwest DSL

Double check the transition fee. I think it's has been waived for the
current promotion. Heck, I'll check the Corp site...

Ok, according to Qwest they have waived their "Host Change Charge" through
Sept 30, 2003 ($30 value). So it looks like it won't cost you that much to
change to another provider. That's the good news.

Now the bad news ;) Finding a good provider...I work for DakotaCom as
does Tyler. That said, give all local ISP's a call and look at their
website for current pricing/promotions. Ask lots of questions. Bare
minimum I would go with a local provider.

Us local providers tend to offer better support. How is that accomplished?
Magic...just kidding. Lower call volume for tech support personal
generally means a higher degree of eagerness to help the customer.

Here is a list of local providers:

www.dakotacom.net
www.ultrasw.com
www.theriver.com
www.gci-net.com
www.bblabs.com
www.opus1.com

There are probably more but my brain is in shutdown mode right now. Sorry
to the ones I forgot about. Hope this info helps. Ok, time to
sleeeeeeeeep...
