Unless you're actually using NFS it can be easily disabled at linuxconf
--> Control --> Control panel --> Control service activity. Stop the
service and disable "Automatic" to keep it from automatically launching
the next time you boot.
Those who use NFS might provide a more elegant solution. :-D
