Network Operations Technician - Broadband Laboratories 

Summary
This person will be a team member responsible for the operations and
support of the Tucson network.

Location
Tucson, Arizona

Understand requirements and SLA's of BBL and how they relate to the
operation of a Network Operation Center.
Provide Tier 2 Network operational support.
Facilitates, analyzes, tracks and resolves network problems and trouble
tickets.
Facilitates the escalation and/or dispatching of trouble tickets and
problems to Shift Lead and Level 2/3 Network Engineers.
Support network change control and administer network change tickets. 
Monitor and analyze network performance to ensure optimum network
operations.
Analyze network performance, faults and results to recommend change. 
Work with development organizations to test and recommend effective
solutions to Network Management System tools. 
Recommend network management system changes with Shift Lead and NMS
Engineers. 
Assist in the development and maintenance of Network Operations Center
Operational policies, procedures and associated documentation. 
Shift work will be required.
 
Job Requirements

Education: 
Cisco CCNA or equivalent experience
Related industry experience managing networks 
Experience: 
The ideal candidate should possess 1-3 years of experience managing and
monitoring networks with a good understanding of local and wide area
networks, internetworking principles and protocols. 
Skilled in the configuration of, Cisco routers, switches and other
network related equipment. 
Thorough understanding of major network operating systems and network
environments. 
Ability to quickly learn new and emerging network technologies. 
Experience with network management tools and trouble ticket systems,
such as CiscoWorks. 
Experience with network management systems, service level agreements,
and performance metrics. 
This individual must have the ability to communicate effectively and
professionally with a wide variety of technical and business
professionals. 
Strong problem solving, and troubleshooting skills. Quality and customer
satisfaction focused. Excellent documentation, and communication skills.

Knowledge of LAN/WAN internetworking principles and protocols is
essential. Must be well-versed in IP addressing, DNS, TCP, UDP, ICMP,
routing with RIP, OSPF, and BGP4. 
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent documentation and communication skills.
