What sort of opinion?  It works kind of like a hybrid (IIRC the encoding
is more like a) between 802.11a and b, but at the 2.4Ghz frequency of b.
At close range you will get the higher speeds, but it drops down as you
move away (I guess thats true for all of them).

Anyway, the final spec won't be out according to IEEE until May of next
year.  I expect some devices will be out before then though.  I don't
really need any more speed than b gives me, but I'm definitely on the
lookout for the higher performance.
