[Tfug] usb-ethernet adapter

Working on installing debian on a laptop... it's my first time on with a
laptop. =/ Most of the install is ok, but I'm having trouble with the
network adapter. It's "SpeedStream SS1001". Typical suggestions found via
google are along the lines of "just try plugging it in". But, that doesn't
seem to work for me. I don't currently have another network interface for
this machine, so it's imperative that I get the adapter working. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
