The nVidia card performance rules once you put in the nVidia driver. 
Its documented pretty well, so it hasn't been much of a problem.  I use
a TNT1 at home and a 64MB GeForce 2 something with the digital out
connector that plugs into a LCD panel at work.  Both are solid.
