[Tfug] Locking from user-land

Hi,

Is there any way I can *effectively* wire down (even for
a short -- but *guaranteed* -- period of time) a small
amount of physical memory from user-land?

E.g., I *think* if I restrict myself to a single page
of memory *and* a single jiffy, I should be able to
do this (?).  Of course, then synchronization becomes 
yet another issue confounding the mess...  :-(

(sigh)  It seems like this can't be done deterministically
without root... (?)
