Is there DC on the output?  (disconnect the speaker
and reconnect ****MOMENTARILY**** the *good* speaker
and see if you hear a "thump").  Presumably you have
tried A/B switches (if any) as well as balance, etc.

Does problem persist with a *mono* source?
