[Tfug] Odd man behavior

I just ran man on my newly-installed RH8.0 system for the first time, and
got the following behavior:

gunzip: stdout: Broken pipe
gunzip: stdout: Broken pipe
<normal man output>
grotty:<standard input>:3386:fatal error: output error

Any ideas as to what's up?
