No, it's not simple *enough*!

Would you want to have to boot a PC *just* so you could disable a port
on a managed switch?  Sure seems like a lot more time/effort than
"flipping a (toggle) switch".

If you *only* want to do this for a couple of ports, why force
your entire network fabric (70+ ports, in my case) to have that
capability?  Gb PoE managed switch just so you can do this with
a Gb port, or a PoE port, etc.?
