A good analogy -- in several ways!
The items that the water pressure likely eventually damages
(washer, dryer, frig, etc.) are akin to the organs damaged by
high blood pressure (kidneys, eyes, etc.).
The "pipes" that typically fail soonest (flexible lines
connecting *movable* appliances like washer and dryer) are
similar to the weakest links in the circulatory system
(e.g., capillaries).
Like hypertension, high water pressure often goes unnoticed
("silent killer") until it has done some notable damage.
*Unlike* hypertension, high water pressure is a lot easier
and cheaper to "cure"! :-/
