Quick update...

They've extended my stay here till December 15. It gives me breathing 
room to look for a permanent place to live. And if I get time, I would 
like to try the ideas offered here, regardless if I'm "floating", 
travelling or find a permanent place to stay.

Cox has been very reliable, but if I can find just as good internet 
access, then why not "internet everywhere" as opposed to just when I'm 
home (or an insecure connection offered in some other location).
