This is the most interesting thing I've read on this list in months...

Installation seems like a semi-pain-in-the-ass, esp. wrt firmware over 
internets; but all the more reason to give it a try.  

My nephew uses Mint, that's all I know about it.  I'm not sure I can deal with 
"elves," however (Gnome).  How's the Xfce; I'm a KDE user... is that old-
school??
