[Tfug] Earlier Days

Show and tell time is here I guess.
In 1969 I was teaching a high school class and was provided with a 
Wang Computer that was programmable.
The students had cards to mark their actions/steps to perform. I have 
the class program the quadratic equation in about 72 steps (if I 
recall) and they found the step by step process of telling the 
computer to take actions to be a great learning experience.

Then in 1971 until 1978 I was left using a DEC-10 at the Catholic 
University of America in Wash. DC. As a grad student I 
taught  graduate level statistics and computer classes on using SPSS. 
Oh well - so much for memory lane.

During those years, I also ran a home business using SPSS for most of 
the psychology and behavioral science dissertations in the DC and 
Maryland area during those years. Oh yes - those were the days  - 
when I had as many as 5 keypunch folks to support the data entry and 
2-3 professors working for me while I was a graduate student to 
perform the various tasks. I later expanded the services to include 
data analysis for various Govt. organizations in the DC area.
