[Tfug] My mail domain is being blocked!

Wow.  This is embarrassing.

I discovered what was blocking my outgoing mail to GMail.  It was a side
effect of me trying to create a more proactive firewall a few months ago. 
I forgot to add SMTP to the WHITE_TCP_OUT in
/etc/blockcontrol/blockcontrol.conf when I installed the blockcontrol
Debian package some months ago.  The package uses moblock at its core and
auto updates daily.  I forgot it was even there because up until now it
hadn't caused a noticeable problem.

I started experimenting with proactive blocking after I had experienced a
couple of weird outgoing network spikes that would come from Firefox. 
That made me nervous enough to make some efforts to beef up my network
security.

Sigh.  I'm a victim of my own paranoia.

Thanks for everyone's advice as I sheepishly apologist for waisting
people's time.
