HAM Radio.  Everyone should have one.  Even if you do not have a license you should have one for emergencies.  In case of emergency who cares if you are licensed.

Low power Morse code is probably the best.  A friend tells me he can stay in contact on his HAM radio for days, sending and receiving messages world wide with just the power of one car battery.

          I saved this. I heard that they shut down cell phone service too. I wonder if
