[Tfug] Need help on a server performance issue...

first check disk > disk performance then...disk > fileserver daemon over
localhost > disk(access the fileserver over localhost and copy over it from
the disk..to the disk)...so if youve done that youve tested the IDE
Controller chipset and drive....the fileserver daemon(samba, nfs,
etc)....and then test over the network.....like to a client PC......going
straight to thinking its a network problem might bite you in the
butt...start at the physical layer like you would for a network problem..and
then work your way up the application layers...for all you know your daemon
got updated and its now glitchy...hope this helps..
