Along a similar line,
Why not get an external USB hard drive (must be 2.0).
Connect it to
the target machine and transfer the target files. Take it to the backup
machine and back up the files.
I just use the network to back up small but very
important files
(Think financial records, musical compositions, etc) The big stuff,
such as movies or office suite data gets backed up on an external USB
hard drive.
It's very difficult to engineer more speed into an
existing network.
A fast network must be designed from the bottom up.
