DenyHosts is a good solution, and so is changing the port that sshd
listens on, as others have mentioned. If you're using a Debian-based
distro, setting up DenyHosts shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.
Install it, and then run through the config real quick to tweak a few
things to your liking. That's about it.
