I have never done it but I believe that you can run virtualbox on a headless system. VBox allows you to rdesktop into systems (even if the system doesn't support rdesktop natively) so you could still manage it from your regular desktop. Again I haven't done this but I believe that it is supported.

Subject: [Tfug] Another Vbox question
I run my magic Jack off of an OLD Dell PIII 600 laptop with 256 memory.
It works OK but after running steadily for about 1 1/2 years it is showing
some strain.
I'm setting up a Dell PIII !GHz server with 1GB memory with Debian. Light
loads, just music and videos and document storage. Can I run Vbox with a
light window manager like TWM on the Server and plug MagicJack into it? I
don't want to load the whole thing up with a GUI.
