[Tfug] Mounting USB drive on Debian Squeeze - 6.0

I haven't used Debian for quite a while.  I installed Debian without a GUI
(no, not on a Sun).  Now I want to copy files from my USB drive.

When I run fdisk -l, I get:

device  /dev/sdb1
system  W95 FAT32 (LBA)

the drive is formatted as ext2 and not FAT32.

What is happening here?
