[Tfug] Source for notebook batteries?

Yeah, Batteries Plus has 'em, but prices are pretty high.  And there's
various EBay critters at various prices.

But you know...the problem with all of those is, you have no idea whose
actual cells are in there.

And since the case is sealed, you're really buying a pig in a poke, y'know?

If you roll your own using cells from a source like this:

...or many others, you KNOW which brand of cells are in there.  You can
research the manufacturers.

Somebody else in this thread said "make sure you buy good stuff" which I
agree with completely - Li-Ion batteries are scary stuff, they're a source
of household fires.

How else do you know what's any good, without sticking 'em in there and
gluing the case shut yourself?
