Huh?? *Crown* molding is at the *top* of the wall. I don't see
what that buys you (me)? If I was concerned about the appearance
of the wires in the office, I'd slip them behind the baseboard
(molding) -- usually there is an inch gap between the drywall
and the floor (if not, you can *make* one :> ) -- and just
remount the molding to cover the "channel" that houses the
wire.
In my case, there are just too many drops in too small a
space. I.e., my office is just a bedroom. I have tables that
suround most of the room. Machines *under* the tables and
other equipment (monitors, printers, etc.) on top of the tables.
So, the ~12 drops are distributed along maybe 30 feet of
wall (?) -- it would look like swiss cheese if I tried to install
real wall sockets for the network cables! :>
But, this is a great way to add things like hifi speakers to
a room without making a big mess.

Get yourself a nice miter box (or, better yet, a good
cutoff saw!). The Right Tools is more than half the
solution.
