This is new/surprising to you? Some people have been using lists as

I happen to agree with Bowie that design needs to be done by one
person (or a very small group) with vision and the willingness to say
no, rather than by committee.
That all said, the signal/noise ratio on this list isn't the best, but
it's better than some lists I'm on. You have to expect that a group
centered around a movement with some philosophical elements to speak
about those rather than have purely technical discussions.
