Yes, but gtkpod means you need to have a UN*X box to run on
and it (gtkpod) is pretty bulky -- not the sort of thing you
would want to install *on* your iPod. That's the goal of
this exercise: to be able to tinker with your iPod without
having to have iTunes -- or, gtkpod -- available (i.e.,
imagine using a "foreign" computer where you don't have
any control over what is on the computer)
