Maybe, but not necessarily. The is an "active" or boot flag that can be set on
disk partition format, normally this is set on the primary Win/DOS partion.
BIOSes will often look for the first partition with an active flag and read
the boot sector of that partition to load the OS. Your BIOS is probably
complaining as it wants to auto-start from the partion marked active.
