The article is very superficial,
Talk about Armageddon on the internet is nothing new.
The internet is global.
passing over many jurisdictions. Generally speaking. Cybercrime
flourishes in countries
where there is a poor central government without good computer fraud or
computer
attack laws.
The UK has some of the most severe penalties for the
criminal use of
computers. These were brought about because is was discovered that computers
were used to recruit young people to commit acts of terror and mayhem in
public
places.
My complaint is that the article doesn't give
specifics. A minor
official is quoted: There is "a huge threat out there". However there are no
specifics. An article like this does the public a disservice.
