Hello TFUG Members,
I will be leading the mentor version of SANS SEC401 Security Essentials
beginning the first week of September.
The class is self-study with mentor led labs and discussions. The class
meets in two hour evening sessions, once per week,
for 10 weeks. The course provides a great overview of system and network
security. In addition, this course has the following
additional benefits:
- No travel costs (for people near Tucson)
- 36 CPE's if you have a CISA or CISSP to maintain
- DoD 8570 Tech II compliance (upon passing the GSEC certification exam)
SANS has agreed to allow TFUG members a 10% discount to this class (use the
registration code "SecOrg").
SANS is running a special promotion this month. Anyone registering for a
mentor format course before August 31 can
get the certification exam for free by using the registration code
"ALL_4_1". This is a $499 savings.

If you know anyone in the Tucson area that would be interested, please feel
free to pass this message on to them.
