Thanks for the info
 I checked my ff plugins and there is no adblock or flashblock or anything like that installed. I did however install flash 10 with the upgrades that ubuntu recommended. Now i must ask how do i revert to flash 9.0
as far as running compiz i don't know what is is so i don't know if i"m running it.
