[Tfug] Cable modem

Thanks for the info. That was exactly the problem. Now that I am connected and not using the router and my speeds have jumped through the roof. I guess I now need a recommendation for a setup for two boxes using the one cable modem. The router I was using was wireless but I used it in the wired configuration. Appreciate any help.

Yeah, with the newest cable modems you have to yank the battery out of 
the bottom and REALLY power cycle the damnthing, otherwise it won't 
work with anything else but what it was connected to before. 

Basic rule with cable modems: you have to power cycle 'em before 
switching devices, and it doesn't matter at all what the devices 
are...Windows, Mac, Linux, different router, different Ethernet card, 
whatever.
