And my point is that we're rapidly moving away from the traditional
"software as product" idea to "software as a service" or "software in
the cloud" or "software as a byproduct of other activity" or "software
developed by necessity".

I'm not suggesting anyone do work for free - last I checked that's
called a "hobby".
